Scrub Love Hydrating Coconut Oil Body Scrub Coconut Cranberry Review

I’ve been so reluctant about reviewing Scrub Love because of the slightly unprofessional way that the brand has come across to me. For context, they contacted me a while back about reviewing their product, I’m always keen to try out anything with coconut oil in it so I agreed. The marketing lady had me and a couple of other bloggers fooled for months saying “it’s in the post” every few weeks. Of course nothing ever arrived *insert major eye roll*. Plus when I did eventually get my hands on some, I read the back of the packet and there is a huge typo in their tagline which reads “Are you read to get dirty?”. Oh dear.

Despite the brands approach to things, I’ve decided to set them aside for the sake of reviewing the actual product. Althoguh you might be interested to know that Scrub Love is an organic, all natural, fair trade, Rain forest Alliance Approved, cruelty free, ethically sourced skin care company.

So in last month’s Look Fantastic Box, I received a full sized product of Scrub Love Hydrating Coconut Oil Body Scrub in Coconut and Cranberry. I half laughed but was willing to still give it a go.

The product comes in a resealable foil packet which is very aesthetically pleasing. I like the idea that it’s in an easily accessible but sealed packet which will keep the scrub mixture fresh.

As soon as I tore open the packet, I was hit with the strong smell of cranberry and coconut. I was a little bit nostalgic with the smell but I couldn’t quite place where I had smelt it before. I did check the back to see if there is any artificial fragrances and it does say Parfum as one of the listed ingredients. The smell isn’t overpowering though and fades after you wash it off.

The back of the packet also reads: “Coconut Flakes: two all natural exfoliator to slough away dead skin and stimulate cell turnover. Cranberry Oil: full of omega’s and antioxidants for ultimate free radical protection. Craberry Fruit Powder: high in vitamin c and salicylic acid for brighter skin. Coconut Oil and Vitamin E: the wonder oil. Blocks free radical damage and hydrates skin.”
Let’s be honest, it sounds like a superhero of a product!

Scrub Love state that you can use the scrub in either a shower or bath and since I didn’t have the time or patience to be sitting in a tub I opted for the shower.

To touch, the product is a wet but grainy mixture. It’s very messy but it turns out very worth it.
To use, all you need to do is grab a little handful and rub the mixture all over your body. Then, scrub it into your skin in circular motions for a few minutes before washing off. Despite being very messy it’s really easy to wash off and you’ll be left with hydrating coconut oil over your body. Don’t mistake this for residue! Leave it on, honestly it’s not at all sticky and once you’re out the shower you won’t even have to moisturise.
I really like that the grainy mixture helps to exfoliate my skin too and I’m hoping that it will get rid of the last of my holiday tan too. I’ll report back on this!

I’ve been using the scrub for almost a fortnight and I have to say I’m really liking it and would definitely consider purchasing it in the future.

Scrub Love Hydrating Coconut Oil Body Scrub is priced at £12.95 for 200g, for me this is very reasonable, especially as you don’t need to use that much.

The coconut scrubs are also available in “Coconut Original” and “Coconut Mango” but of which I’m really keen to try. The products are now available to buy on Beauty Bay here.
