Last weekend (I know, i know i’m late blogging about it(!) but this is a jumbo post to make up for it) I attended the canary wharf high street stores A/W fashion show, based in none other than, you guessed it, Canary wharf!
Now when I say attended I will be honest and say that I actually just walked into the mall completely unaware it was taking place, however I was lucky enough to be in the FROW; flip of my hair. I have to say, it was actually fantastic.
Not only did the models know how to strut their stuff down the catwalk, they danced away, fantastically well might I add, to a medley of Bruno Mars, Michael Buble and other jaunty music.
The brands featured were French connection, Oasis, Karen Millen, GAP, Levis, Marks & Spencers & Next (also featuring Kurt Geiger shoes).
The show kicked off with an energetic dance number from Levis.
Generally I’m not a Levis lover and to be be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed with any of their items that featured. I thought that for an Autumn-winter show, hot pants/denim shorts and a coral dress weren’t the best choices.
Here’s a video to see the disappointing collection for Levi’s:
Next up was Oasis.
Now, I’m not always a fan of Oasis clothing. A lot of the time I feel that they don’t always get it quite right. However the items featured for the show were lovely. There was lots of burgundy/Oxblood going on and the clothes were perfect for a day at the office/workwear.
Here are some of my favourites of the items that were featured:
NEXT was…well..next lol
They featured real A/W clothes including a lovely Red swing coat pictured below (albeit blurry).
Unfortunately none of the items featured seem to be up on their website at the moment but keep checking back and i’m sure they’ll be up soon to purchase.
In the mean time here is a short clip of Next’s performance leading into Gap’s dance routine:
Shortly after Karen Millen featured on the catwalk. I love love love KM! their style is always classic with an edge and they have a real love for DETAIL all year round, which is evident in the whole of their A/W collection.
The first two outfits featured can be bought/seen below and I have to say, I love every single one of them!
M&S followed, featuring comfortable-casual outfits suitable for workwear, added with lashings of leather. Here’s a video clip if you would like to see what they showcased:
Lastly, French Connection closed the show with a Buble number (Swoon). They featured a number of dressy items including a brand new take on their signature sequined dress and LBD’s. Not very A/W but I’m guessing their designers were aiming their collection at those who have the dreaded christmas parties way way before December.
You will have to excuse the slightly askew and blurry pictures, they were taken on my phone whilst I was struggling to juggle my bags of shopping and frappe at the same time
All in all, there are some lovely pieces out at the moment to add to your wardrobe; and if the newspapers are anything to go by, then our lovely Indian summer is coming to an end following this weekend so it might be worth investing in some of these beauties!
Which are your favourites? what did you think of their dance moves? will you be investing in any of the items featured?
Love R x
