If you’re looking for the most magical, atmospheric, and downright Christmassy night out in London this winter, let me introduce you to The Great Christmas Feast by The Lost Estate. Part immersive theatre, part live music concert, part lavish Victorian banquet — this is the Christmas experience Londoners whisper about every year.
And guess what? It’s back for 2025, bigger and more dazzling than ever.

Picture this: it’s Christmas Eve, 1843. Snow is falling outside, the candles are flickering, and you’ve been invited into Charles Dickens’ parlour to hear him read his brand-new story, A Christmas Carol, for the very first time.
But this isn’t just theatre. It’s a full-blown Victorian Christmas feast where food, drink, music, and performance wrap around you like the warmest mulled wine hug. Over the course of the evening, you’ll eat, drink, and watch Dickens himself (played by the incredible David Alwyn) bring Scrooge, Marley, and Tiny Tim to life in an intimate, candlelit setting.
This isn’t a soggy mince pie and a splash of cheap prosecco affair. The three-course festive menu has been carefully created by chef Ashley Clarke (Gordon Ramsay Group, Temper Soho, Smokestak) to echo the flavours of Dickensian London.
Expect starters inspired by Victorian markets, think hot smoked salmon, potted rare breed beef, or rich potted cheese with pickles and soda bread.
Mains include confit Gressingham duck leg with all the trimmings, or a golden vegetarian mushroom pithivier that’s pure showstopper vibes. And of course, dessert is none other than a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy ice cream.
Drinks are just as much a part of the story, with Victorian cocktails like the Smoking Bishop (a Dickens favourite), Pear Tree Cup, and the Rumfustian, served straight from Dickens’ own “cellar”. Wine, ale, and non-alcoholic options are all available too.
Before you even sit down to dinner, you’ll find yourself walking through snow-dusted streets and lantern-lit alleys, stepping right into Dickensian London thanks to the genius of Darling & Edge (the creative team behind Gingerline and Secret Cinema).
Every detail, from the gaslit parlour tables to the Victorian-clad waitstaff, makes you feel like you’ve crossed into 1843. The live score by composer Steffan Rees (performed by a trio of world-class musicians) adds to the magic, guiding you through the haunting and heart-warming story of Scrooge’s transformation.

The Great Christmas Feast has quietly become one of London’s best-kept Christmas traditions – it sells out every year, and with good reason. It’s the kind of night that’s romantic, festive, and just a little bit otherworldly.
It’s dinner. It’s theatre. It’s music. It’s Christmas. All wrapped up in one unforgettable evening.
Or, as The Stage put it: “A theatrical, musical and culinary extravaganza.”
