Kulfi Beauty Lip Oil Stain in Shade Rose Review

If you’re a fellow lip product hoarder (no judgment, my makeup bag is basically a shrine to glosses and tints), then you’ve probably already heard whispers about the Kulfi Beauty Lip Oil Stain. It’s been doing the rounds on TikTok and Instagram, and being the beauty guinea pig that I am, I had to try it for myself.

The shade I went for? Rose. Because let’s be honest, if there’s a shade named after one of the prettiest flowers out there, it’s basically begging to be tested. It also looked the most natural for me.

So here’s my honest, no-gatekeeping, “would I actually recommend this to a friend” review of the Kulfi Beauty Lip Oil Stain in Rose. Spoiler alert: this little tube is already living in my handbag.

First Impressions – Packaging & Vibe

Kulfi Beauty’s packaging always makes me smile – it’s colourful, playful, and feels like a celebration of joy rather than the super serious, minimal-to-the-point-of-boring aesthetic some brands push. The Lip Oil Stain comes in a cute tube that feels sturdy but not heavy. Easy to throw into a pocket or a tiny crossbody bag without worrying about leaks.

The applicator is doe-foot (bless, because those weird tiny brushes some stains come with are a nightmare), and it picks up just the right amount of product.

Texture & Formula

Here’s where Kulfi nailed it: this isn’t just your average watery lip stain that dries your lips into raisins. The formula is like a gloss-meets-treatment-meets-tint.

On first swipe, it feels like a plush, lightweight oil – juicy without being gloopy. When applied, it looks less oily and more moisturised, leaving behind a soft stain that doesn’t cling to dry patches. The texture actually reminds me a bit of the Dior Lip Glow Oil, but thinner and more breathable. Bonus points: it doesn’t have that sticky gloss feeling that attracts stray hair strands like a magnet.

Crafted with mango seed oil, this lip oil is rich in fatty acids, which help to nourish and moisturise lips. It also contains coconut oil, which also helps to keep lips hydrated and feeling comfortable. Vitamin E works to help prevent damage caused by free radicals.

The Shade “Rose”

The shade Rose is chef’s kiss. On me (light-medium skin with neutral undertones), it pulls like a soft flushed pink. Think “my lips but better” with a touch of rosiness that instantly wakes up the face.

It has that flattering, everyday vibe that you can wear to brunch, a meeting, or even a quick grocery run when you want to look alive. I can see it working across a lot of skin tones because it adapts as the stain sets in.

Wear Test – Does It Actually Last?

Okay, so here’s the tea. If you’re expecting a 12-hour bulletproof lip stain, this isn’t it. But honestly? I’m fine with that.

The oil glossiness lasts about an hour (longer if you’re not sipping lattes or snacking), and then the stain does most of the heavy lifting. The tint itself hangs around for 3 – 4 hours on me, fading evenly without leaving that weird “ring of colour” around the edges. When it does fade, it’s soft and natural rather than patchy.

I reapplied once after lunch, and because the texture is so light, it layers beautifully without going clumpy.

Hydration Check

As someone with perpetually dry lips (thank you, air-con and coffee addiction), I was low-key nervous this would leave me flaky, but nope. My lips felt comfortable the whole time. While I wouldn’t say it’s a full-on lip balm replacement, it’s definitely more hydrating than most stains out there. Think of it as a hybrid between skincare and makeup.

You all know I love evidence based reviews, so here’s what Kulfi have said were the results of a survey conducted with 20 participants:

Is It Worth Buying?

Honestly? Yes. If you’re tired of drying lip stains but still love the low-maintenance tint vibe, the Kulfi Beauty Lip Oil Stain in Rose is a perfect middle ground. It’s fun, flattering, and feels nice to wear.

Would I replace all my glosses with it? No. But would I keep it as an everyday go-to that makes me feel polished without effort? Absolutely.

Final Verdict – 8.5/10

The Kulfi Beauty Lip Oil Stain in Rose is basically the makeup equivalent of a good mood in a tube. It’s not going to survive a three-course dinner or your third iced latte, but it gives you the prettiest wash of colour with zero dryness. If you love juicy, easy lip products with a bit of personality, this one’s worth the hype.
