If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll be very aware that my back and neck have been giving me grief for months. Waking up stiff, sore, and cranky is not exactly the glamorous “rise and shine” moment I pictured for my 30s. Since moving into my new home, I’ve been on the hunt for a mattress that feels like luxury but also actually gives me a good night’s sleep. After some serious scrolling (and reading way too many mattress reviews), I landed on the Simba Hybrid® Mattress. Spoiler: this thing might just be the answer I was looking for.

The Simba Hybrid® is the brand’s original ground-breaking hybrid mattress, and it’s got some serious tech packed inside. Simba isn’t new to this game, they’re one of the most five-star reviewed mattress brands in the world, which definitely boosted my confidence before trying it out for myself. Plus, it’s made in the UK, which always feels like a nice touch.
From the second it arrived, I could tell it wasn’t your standard slab of foam. It’s got a clever blend of Aerocoil® springs and Simbatex® foam, basically the comfort duo you didn’t know you needed.
The mattress arrives vacum packed and all I had to do was open the box and unroll the flattened mattress on to the bed base. After this, cut the plastic and break the vacuum seal and remove all the packaging.
Okay, the website throws around words like “Aerocoil®” and “Simbatex®” like we all know what that means, so here’s the plain English version:

Now for the part you’re really here for – what’s it like to sleep on?
In one word: balanced. Simba rates the Hybrid® as “medium-firm,” and I’d agree. It’s supportive but not rock-hard. When I lay down, there’s that gentle hug feeling from the foam, but with enough bounce from the springs to keep me from sinking.
For me, the biggest change was waking up without that tight, pinched feeling in my neck and the dull ache in my lower back. After a couple of weeks, the difference was definitely noticeable. I wasn’t shuffling to the coffee machine every morning like I’d just run a marathon in my sleep!
Honestly? I think this mattress is a strong all-rounder. Whether you’re a side sleeper, back sleeper, or a “flips like a pancake all night” sleeper, the Hybrid® adjusts well. Because it’s medium-firm, it’s cushioned enough for side sleepers like me (shoulders don’t get jammed into the mattress), but supportive enough for back sleepers who need spinal alignment.
And if you share a bed, the motion isolation is a lifesaver. My partner moves around a lot, and for the first time in years I didn’t wake up every time he rolled over.
One small, added extra, thing I love is that Simba offers a recycling service. When you’re done with your old mattress, they’ll pick it up so you’re not adding to landfill guilt. It’s a small detail, but it makes me feel better about investing in something new.

Pros:
Cons:
If you’re someone like me, tired of waking up sore and cranky, the Simba Hybrid® feels like a luxury upgrade that actually does what it promises. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but considering how much of our lives we spend in bed, I’d call it an investment in both comfort and sanity.
I wanted luxury, I wanted support, and most of all, I wanted to stop waking up feeling worse than when I went to bed. The Simba Hybrid® Mattress ticked all those boxes for me. My back and neck are finally chilling out, and I’m waking up ready to take on the day instead of moaning about how much I need a massage.
So yes, if you’ve been hunting for a mattress that blends comfort with actual science-backed support, I’d say Simba is worth the hype.
