Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Mother Review

I’m back today with another Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick review, yippee! My sister recently visited Dubai and she came back with a fair few of these so brace yourself for a whole load of reviews coming your way. The shade I’m reviewing today is called ‘Mother’ and before I go on, let me just say the name is completely fitting, for me this is the mother of all the lipsticks that I own and I have not stopped wearing it since I got my hands on it!

The packaging is the same skinny transparent tube decorated with the signature black filigree pattern. It does look as though you’re getting less than other products but I have done my research and you do get 6ml. The thinner tube actually makes it easier to get to all the product around the edges.

The colour ‘Mother’ is just beautiful, it’s a stunning fuchsia pink. Unlike other matte liquid lipsticks, this doesn’t dry darker than it looks. It stays vibrant throughout the whole time I have it on. I’ve had a few people ask and the shade I would say it’s very similar to is MAC – Girl about town.

My favourite thing about this range is how creamy they are. The buttery feel is all down to the incorporation of Vitamins A, C and E in their product which means as a result there’s no dryness, peeling or weird sensation on your lips. I’ve also recently found out that Kat Von D products are cruelty free and free of parabens. As if I couldn’t like them any more than I already do!

Once again, the only downside is that it’s technically not “everlasting”. If you eat or drink something, you will definitely need to reapply. If you stay without food and drink through a straw (and yes I have tested this) it will last a good 5-6 hours before you need a touch up. If you’re someone who licks your lips a lot it’s not going to last very long either.
The lipstick isn’t smear proof either so if you do wipe your hands over your lips, it will smudge. Once it’s fully dry, it is however kiss proof/touch proof. Baring all of the above in mind the lipstick can be removed very easily with plain water, make up remover or baby wipes. I do love that you don’t need to line your lips with liquid lipstick, oddly enough the other part is the only bit that actually stays on.

If it wasn’t advertised as everlasting, I wouldn’t be so stuck on the fact that it comes off pretty easily. Putting that aside, this is exactly what I want in a liquid lipstick. It stays on for a decent amount of time, it feels good when it’s on and doesn’t dry out my lips over the course of the day. The approximate price tag of £20 isn’t completely extortionate but it’s still not available in the UK. If you’re able to get hold of this range, I’d definitely recommend you invest in all the colours! Read my review of Lolita here.
