Dewytree 3 Step Vita Capsule Black Mask Review

I’ve always been torn when it comes to sheet masks. Some people rave about them and others have said that they’re really pointless and just plain messy. I’ve been relatively in the latter category for a while but the one sheet mask that has had me change my thoughts completely is the Dewytree 3 Step Vita Capsule Black Mask.

So my biggest gripe with sheet masks is the sheet itself. My face is very small so I go past looking like Hannibal lectar and more like I’ve slipped back in time to year three when I learnt the hard way that paper mache isn’t meant for your face. Really though, what is the point of it?

After speaking to a skincare specialist I actually found out that the mask itself creates an “occlusive barrier,” which means it physically seals in the active serums underneath; theoretically, this helps the product work more effectively.
Obviously this hasn’t been properly tested and backed by scientific studies but the theory behind it makes sense.

Dewytree is a Korean beauty brand which believes in the power of nature for skin, rather than harsh chemicals.  The dewytree 3 in 1 face mask consists of foam cleanser, ampoule and sheet mask for skin brightening and reducing wrinkles. Bold claims really but I was keen to give it a go!

I had a quick glance at the ingredients and two stood out to me. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and Adenosine.
Niacinamide makes skin glow and Adenosine has proven anti-wrinkle benefits due to its ability to energize skin’s surface so it looks smoother and younger. On first impressions of just the packet, it seems to have all the components to do exactly what it says!

The mask has three separate foiled sections that you can tear off.

Step 1: Vita Foam Cleanser

I’m really particular about cleansers and always a bit wary when they say “foam”. Since I’m pretty dedicated to being a guinea pig for you guys I gave it a go. There wasn’t a huge amount of detail on the packet instructions, but this foam is a cleanser designed to remove dead skin cells and brighten dull and lack-lustre skin. The cleanser is an almost foamy consistency and was really easy to work into my skin. I was extremely glad to see that it doesn’t foam up too!
It does have a very soap-y smell. Think imperial leather lol but it’s quite pleasant, definitely nothing offensive. I used a facial brush to work it into my skin for about 30 seconds for each section of my face and took it off with a Muslim cloth.

I do want to note that I really like that there is a good amount in the small sachet and Ill be honest, I saved half of it to use the following day!

My thoughts on the cleanser? I NEED to find a full sized version of it! When I say my skin felt both clean and smooth after drying my face, I’m talking baby soft skin! My skin didn’t feel tight but I did feel like I needed to moisturise which is fine because it led me on to the next step nicely.

Step 2: Vita Activator Ampoule

So I’m a huge huge fan of the Vita propolis Ampoule. It’s an amazing serum that is packed full of vitamin goodness. I’m not 100% sure if this is the same thing but I do know that this particular Ampoule is packed with Hyaluonic acid – perfect for hydration! It also contains Propolis extract which is golden elixir made by bees. It is known for its ability to fight against a lot of powerful bacteria, combat oily skin AND it also moisturises, so this helps keep skin healthier.

The ampoule isn’t oily at all but it does take a little while for it to sink into your skin. It felt really nice on my skin and it was really easy to work into my skin. There were no instructions on how long to leave it on for so I gave it about 10 minutes before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Sheet Mask

I opened up the packaging eagerly as it’s the first time I’ve ever used a black sheet mask! This particular mask is made with JEJE Volcanic Ash Clay which helps to detox and hydrate the skin. The sheet mask was absolutely soaked in B3, B5, C and E. I was really pleased that they were so generous with the concoction and honestly, there was enough in the packet to last me another round!

So what do all these vitamins do? Vitamin B3 aka Niacinamide helps to brighten the skin and fade marks and blemishes. Vitamin B5 which is Panthenol is used to moisturize and Vitamin E, which along with the Vitamin C can regenerate each other optimizing each other’s anti-oxidant effects. All in all, a wonderful and pretty powerful mix of ingredients.

I have a very small face so sheet masks never sit well on me, luckily I was able to spread it on to my face so it fit properly. I’m not sure whether I prefer the Hannibal Lecter look or Gimp face tbh 😂

The instructions say to leave it on for 10-20 minutes and then gently pat the excess into the skin. I did get a bit carried away and left it on for 30 minutes and since it was soaked in product so the mask didn’t dry out at all.

After completing my little sheet mask self care ritual, my skin looked and felt great. There was no sticky residue and my skin wasn’t left feeling greasy. It did however look really dewy. It did feel as though I had applied a serum on to my face but not in an uncomfortable way. After going downstairs my sister commented on how well my skin was looking so I can actually say my skin was GLOWING.

Would I buy this product? I would definitely repurchase this mask. It’s a lengthy process but one with instant results so you can’t complain. It is expensive in the world of sheet masks as its priced at £5.99 but considering that you get ALOT of product and the fact that it works, I would buy and recommend it.
