I’ve stripped back my skincare routine. The thought of doing a 10 step routine fills me with dread so I’ve ditched most of the steps and focused on moisturising and healing my acne prone skin. One product which I truly believe has been integral to this is Weleda Skin food.

There has been a sudden hype around it again thanks to Tik Tok and since I had a tube in my skincare stash I thought I’d give it a proper go.
Full disclosure, 6 years ago, when I first was sent a tester for this product I hated it. It is SO thick that I had to glance at the tube multiple times to ensure I hadn’t mistakenly picked up a face mask. It has a strong smell and it does leave your face looking shiny and feeling like you’ve put something on it. When I was in my 20s, I didn’t know F all about what was good for my skin.
Now that I’m older and wiser I LOVE Weleda Skin food. I love the thickness and that I have to work it into my skin. I love how good of an occlusive it is and being able to feel it on my skin makes me feel like I’ve applied a protective barrier to it. Let’s face it, there’s a reason why Weleda has been around for over 90 years.
I’m currently using prescribed Tretinoin so my skin is dry and flaky most days. Weleda has kept that at bay and honestly, I really like the herbal smell now!

The biggest difference for me is the difference it has made to my skin. I’m finding that I’m not breaking out on a daily/weekly basis. This break from new spots is allowing old scars to heal and my skin looks and feels healthier. It has made a noticeable difference with protecting my skin barrier.
My husband is a skincare junkie and he immediately bought himself some Weleda because he can see how great it’s been for me.
Would I recommend it? YES. Weleda is unapologetic and that’s what is so great about it. It doesn’t try to fit into boxes by being runnier or less fragranced. I personally would recommend all day every day.
Where can I buy it? HERE. Weleda Skin Food.
Great, thank you! I hope it heals my acne scars…
