The Bathory Products Review

My job is pretty stressful there’s no question about it. There’s always a crisis that needs to be dealt with and I’ve found that the longer I’ve worked there, the harder I find it to switch off. I’ve tried reading, watching films, baking, anything that I think will take my mind of the day and help me relax and so far the only thing that makes a real difference is a nice long relaxing bath.

When I was given the opportunity to try The Bathory’s new take on bathing, I was extremely excited.

So what’s so special about The Bathory do I hear you ask?

Well, this unique brand allows you to customise your product to exactly what you want and need for the ultimate bathing experience. Little bit dramatic, you might be thinking but I assure you it really is fantastic.

You begin by deciding what base you would like; Soothe, Bask or Detox. To sum up, Bask is filled with mineral salts, Soothe has hydrating buttermilk, oats and honey and Detox has Epsom salts and Rhassoul Clay to draw out toxins. Since I’ve just finished my course of Roaccutane, and I’ve been trying to Detox with green teas, Detox was an easy choice for me.

Next, you choose which three essential oils you would like to add from a list of Bergamot, Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Rosemary, Sandalwood, and Ylang Ylang. The Bathory is really helpful and gives you the option to decide how you want your bath to make you feel (Relaxed, Revived, Happy, Sexy, Confident, Focussed or Inspired) and once you select the emotion it tells you which of the aforementioned oils would be linked to that feeling.

Rather than going for 3 oils that were linked to one feeling, I chose three very different oils and to be honest, just hoped for the best! I opted for a mix of Chamomile, Lavender and Ylang Ylang. Once you’ve made you’re pick, The Bathory carefully blend your invention by hand at their workshop far far away somewhere in the English countryside.

Surprisingly, not long after I had placed my order the package was already being delivered to my house, Quick turnaround is always a plus, especially with customised products.

The salts come packaged in a classic brown bag with a chic yet informative label on what ingredients were used. Inside the bag is a beautiful violet glass jar holding your invention. If you didn’t feel like an alchemist already, this really tops it off!

For those who don’t know, Violet allows increased shelf life for the products it holds, it has natural preservation and refinement of healing properties and of course it just looks frickin’ amazing on my dressing table!

 And my experience…?

Well, as recommended, I poured half the contents into a really hot bath and eagerly anticipated some “me time”. There’s not much more I can say about the bath, except that it was heavenly. Exactly what I had hoped for and I think I might just be addicted to trying out different combinations.

Priced at around £18 means that it’s not necessarily something you would buy every other week but it’s definitely a treat I would recommend to you all. I also love the idea that every Bath Soak is a bespoke order, and I can already see it being a really thoughtful Christmas gift.

I leave you with three words – Let’s Get Naked 😉

Have you tried The Bathory products? Are you into taking baths? What oils would you have chosen?

Love Always,
