Hey guys! I’m back with another Q+A skincare review. This week I received a PR package from them featuring their latest launch which is the Q+A Grapefruit Cleansing Balm. Usually I’m not a fan of cleansing balms (including the coveted Eve Lom one!) so I was eager to see if this one could change my mind!
The package is once again on brand and this time it’s yellow. The cleansing balm comes in a tube – the same ones as the cleansers. I was surprised as I always thought a balm was a solidified concoction of oils. I was expecting a tub rather than a tube but I’m not averse to change so I peeled off the seal and gave the tube a squeeze. The product is actually the consistency of a normal cleanser – I much prefer this. It smells of grapefruit (obvz) too which for me is a bonus.
As a side note – The Eve Lom cleanser has a smell which reminds me of cloves, it was ok using it for a bit but after a while I couldn’t deal with the smell.

Instruction say to apply it to dry skin and massage for 30 seconds. Thereafter wipe away with a warm damp face cloth.
I really enjoyed using it! The consistency of the cleansing balm being more like a face wash was much more enjoyable for me to use. When I use a balm thats quite oily, the slimy texture puts me off and I worry it will clog up my pores. The Q+A Grapefruit Cleansing Balm just feels like a normal cleanser; it’s very easy to use and less messy. It’s super easy to wash off and I loved that it left my face feeling moisturised rather than dry or sore after some scrubbing.
I love the fact that they’ve added Squalene in. It’s such an underrated product which has really been helping my dry, peeling (from using retinol) skin. I feel like I can continue to experiment with makeup, without worrying about my face feeling sore from all he scrubbing and washing.

I tried the balm with three waterproof products that I love. The first is a NYX Epic Ink liner which is waterproof and the second is a Beauty Bakerie Lip Whip and lastly a Huda Beauty Liquid Lipstick. The eyeliner is quite easy to remove with a decent makeup remover but the Lip Whip does not budge. It take a lot of scrubbing with coconut oil before theres any sign or removing.
The eyeliner came off really well with no scrubbing at all. The Lip Whip however barely moved. I’m not sure what they put in this stuff but it just doesn’t budge with any product I’ve ever used. In all honesty, as much as I had high hopes, I wasn’t expecting it to. The Huda Beauty Lipstick however came off very well with some very light massaging.
If you’re someone who doesn’t wear heavy makeup, is it worth investing in? If you’re into double cleansing this is a really nice first cleanse. I feel like there isn’t too much effort into using it and the squalene and Cocao in the product really help to stop drying out your skin.

According to Q+A (and the packaging) this product can be used on all skin types.
Would I recommend the product? Honestly, it is the most easiest cleansing balm I have ever used. Requires very little effort and is a fraction of the price of so many expensive ones that give you exactly the same results.
