The Natural History Museum will tackle climate-related issues in a free week-long programme of events tailored to young people.

Ahead of the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference, Generation Hope: Act for the Planet will be held at the museum, as well as online for people aged 15 years-old to 25.

It will include talks and panels featuring a string of activists at the forefront of climate justice, who look at the important issues facing young people today and go through the science of climate change.

Highlights include a panel exploring how the media could or should engage people with the climate crisis, and a workshop looking at the big health impacts of climate change across different communities and how to become resilient to these.

Interactive workshops will give participants a creative and practical toolkit on how to best engage with climate science, overcome disinformation and how to showcase solutions and share stories of hope.

Guest climate justice activist include Mitzi Jonelle Tan, convenor and international spokesperson of Youth Advocates for Climate Action Philippines and the Fridays For Future of the Philippines, Elizabeth Wathuti, an environmentalist and climate justice activist from Nairobi who founded Green Generation Initiative,  and Disha Ravi who founded the Indian branch of Fridays For future.

Larissa Pinto Moraes, executive director of  Brazilian youth organisation that inspires climate agency  in young people Engajamundo, and fellow Latina and climate justices activist and disability awareness advocate Daphne Frias will also feature in the programme.
