I discovered Facetheory way back in 2015 when they sent me some of their products to try. I was surprised at how much I loved their cleanser and have always kept an eye on what they’re doing with their products since. Back in January I had a quick browse of their website and was immediately sold by the sound of Regena-C Moisturiser with Retinol, Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid. It’s literally all of the ingredients I look for in skincare now rolled into one moisturiser!

Facetheory say that this product:
These are bold claims and they put in a disclaimer too which says Facetheory products contain a high concentration of actives, so only a small amount is required per use.
There is A LOT of information on their product page, including a long list of all the actives used in this product. They even list that the moisturiser comes in a glass jar with a recyclable aluminium lid. I honestly love all of this transparency and education on what they are selling.

Not going to lie, after reading all that I was very excited to try it and maybe even a little bit scared!
The packaging has come a long way from the white plastic bottle I was sent 5 years ago and I love it. It’s aesthetically pleasing AND environmentally friendly. You have to stan.
The consistency of the cream is thick and it takes a minute to work into the skin but when it’s on, it leaves your skin feeling really moisturised. I do think this cream is for those with skin that is more on the dry side because I was finding that it left my skin quite oily and veryyy shiny. If your face gets oily and is acne prone, it may not be for you. It’s also worth noting that this product does have shea butter in which can sometimes lead to break outs.
Something else which is slightly unusual is that they give you the option to buy a mandarin scented version and a fragrance free one. Of course I opted for the fragrance free. Which in reality doesn’t mean free of any fragrance – just not an artificial one! The smell of the unscented moisturiser is actually lovely. A herbal smell but nothing too overbearing.
After 5 or so weeks of using this cream, I have to say it’s a nice cream. For me, it’s lovely to use over winter when my skin is dry but I can’t see myself using it in summer. It’s not sticky or greasy, I just prefer lighter, gel based creams when the weather is warmer.
In regards to the 3 magic ingredients: Retinol, Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid – I didn’t notice a difference at all. After over a months use, I don’t think my skin seemed brighter or more plump/smoother. It’s definitely moisturised but I didn’t notice any added extras.
If you have the right skin type for this product and you’re looking for a good moisturiser then £13.99 is incredible for the product that you get. I would hope that the results get better and more visible, the longer you use it.
Would I recommend this product? Only if you have dry skin that isn’t prone to break outs.
Would I buy it again? I think I’ll give this one a miss.
