Beyou App Make Up Artists To Your Door

Having grown up a big city girl, I came to the realisation pretty early that no matter how hard I worked to get rich, I would always be time poor. There’s just far too much to do and such little time, especially when it comes to beauty.

If you frequent Damzel In This Dress a lot then you’ll know that I’m all about the ‘lazy girl beauty for the busy city girl’.

So when I head about a brand new app that would revolutionise how much time I spent on getting myself ready, I had to know more.

Introducing Beyou – a mobile make up app which allows you to book makeup artists to your door, (or desk!) wherever that may be.

I was lucky enough to attend a press evening with co-creators Charlotte Green and Nawal Alkhedairy. They were both so lovely and have given me all the low down on this revolutionary app.

So how does it actually work?

It’s a free iPhone (sorry android users!) app which allows you to fill out a profile all about yourself and even upload pictures.
Update: Beyou can now be accessed on a desktop so all you android users won’t have to miss out!

Once that’s set up and complete you’re all good to go!

The app will then allow you to compare make-up artists’ prices, reviews, and ratings to figure out who the best person for you is. Then directly from your phone you can schedule and manage your own bookings. It really is as simple as that.

My absolute favourite thing about the app is that you can set your own prices. Let’s face it, Indian weddings are –expensive and sometimes you don’t always have the funds to splash out on your face paint.

Is it just beauty?

Beyou allows you to book make-up artists and/or hairstylists to your door whenever you want, wherever you are, for any budget. Although the app isn’t centred around hair, you can communicate via the app and find someone just right for you how can cater to your hairstyling needs.

What if I don’t want a full on face of full coverage makeup?

No problem at all! Beyou offers 4 different services on their inspiration menu which can help you figure out exactly what you want

OK but how do I know the make up artists are even any good?

Each artist has to make an application to apply to work on the app and they’re all vetted by Nawal and Charlotte. They also confirmed that they have a huge waiting lists for applications because they’re super selective on who they want to represent their brand.

At the press event I went to, I got to meet some of the makeup artists that you can book through the app and they bought along their kit. I can definitely vouch for them using high quality products and have a complete kit ready for you.

I’m Asian/Black, will the makeup artists be able to work with my skin tone?

I did ask Co-founder Nawal this very question and she completely gets it, being of Arab descent herself. Since the app allows you to upload photos, it’’s easy to communicate with the makeup artists, exactly what your concerns may be.

What are my honest opinions on the app?

I feel like it has been a long time coming. Although there are other similar apps out there, this one puts all it’s focus on beauty. Something like this can only get bigger and better and I can definitely see myself using it. Some people have asked but when would you ever need to really?

Well picture this, I’m at work all day (South East London) and I have a wedding/party to get to in the evening (in North London). Realistically I won’t have enough time to get home and doll myself up and I definitely don’t want to be lugging around makeup and beauty tools with me. Instead, I could pick up my phone and order a makeup artist straight to my office and save myself both the time and anxiety of having to do it all.

I love that you can also book Halloween makeup through the app too!

Would I recommend the app? Definitely. If you can make your life a thousand times easier, why wouldn’t you? Not to mention that the app is free and you get to set your own budget. I love it.
