By now you must all know how much I love Egg Slut, so when I walked past Egg Run just outside Monument station, I knew I had to give it a go.

Location wise it’s in a pretty perfect location. It’s popped up directly outside Monument station so for all the office workers who may have missed breakfast, it’s very easy to get to and order it just before you get into the office.
The actual restaurant is very cute. An instagrammable area, which is a must for every restaurants nowadays, is situated right as you walk in to order. A huge neon sign hangs above two egg chairs that says “Eggs are my spirit animal” – what does it mean? I have absolutely no idea.
There are no tables inside on the ground floor but if you go upstairs, there are a few tables and stools. The tables aren’t huge, but the whole purpose of these types of food establishments is the premise of “fast food” so I like that the option is there. There are tables outside too.
I did notice and loved that there are sockets for almost each of the tables so if you wanted to start work early whilst you have breakfast, it’s perfect.
They don’t serve halal meat so I didn’t have very many options on the menu. On first glance, the menu does look very similar to Egg Slut. I decided to go for the original “Egg Run”. I was definitely keen to see how it compared to Egg Slut. Perhaps I shouldn’t be making a comparison, I mean, no idea is completely original but this one just feels a little too…cheeky.
The food came fairly quickly and in really cute packaging, bought up on a little tray.

Ok so I absolutely loved the flavour of ‘Eggrun’. Something in it has a slight kick which really works with the flavour of the egg. According to Egg Run it’s a secret sauce (According to Egg Slut it’s sriracha mayo :P). The bun was really soft and overall it was actually surprisingly filling. My only very slight gripe was that the egg was a little bit..hard/stodgy. Perhaps I’m comparing it to Egg Slut where the scrambled egg is very very creamy, or perhaps the egg was just very slightly overcooked. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it and I would definitely try it again. I also tried their fresh orange juice which was really good. They’ve got a range of seemingly healthy juice/drink options which I’m also keen to try out when I visit again.
A word of warning, it’s a very messy food experience so keep that in mind. I’m weird about messy food so I might try and see if I can get a knife and fork next time.
Something that they do have which is unique is a vegan option! I’m definitely interested to try it along with the ‘Taco Run’ which features the addition of feta cheese and lettuce.
The prices are cheaper than Egg Slut, but it’s still £6.95 for scrambled eggs haha. I will say though, even though it’s probably the most expensive scrambled egg you’ll eat, it’s worth a try at least once.
Would I recommend it? Definitely. If you like eggs, give it a try at least once.
Would I go again? I think I would. I’m not in a rush to hurry back but I would like to see if the eggs are cooked any better the second time round. Definitely looking forward to trying Taco Run at some point too.
