The Dermalogica Skin Smoothing cream is one that’s been on my ‘to try’ list for the longest time. Last month I finally caved and I’ve been using this Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream since I purchased it. I feel like that’s enough time for me to spill the tea, or rather, the cream. Let’s get into it!

Right off the bat, this cream feels super luxe. The packaging is sleek and minimalist. It does give a kind of medical vibe, like it’s been developed in a lab, which I like. It feels like a high-quality product, and let’s be honest, sometimes that’s half the battle. It’s also a squeezy tube so very hygienic and easy to use.
The texture is where this cream really shines. It’s not too thick, not too thin – it’s just right. You can see it in the photo that the glob of moisturiser has a perfect consistency.
It glides on smoothly and absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and hydrated, not greasy. I’ve used some moisturisers in the past that feel heavy and sit on top of my skin, but this one sinks right in.
Key Ingredients:
Silk Amino Acids: Smooths things out.
Mallow, Cucumber, and Arnica: Soothes and hydrates.
Grape Seed Extract, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E: Fights free radicals.
Aloe Vera: Keeps your skin happy and hydrated.
Basically, it’s like a little drink of water for your face!

Now, let’s talk about hydration. This cream is a hydration hero! My skin can get a bit dry, especially in the winter and with tretinoin, but this cream keeps it moisturised all day long. I wake up with my skin feeling plump and refreshed, which is a major win in my book. The other thing I really like is that I don’t get shiny towards the end of the day. This is happening to me more and more so I’m glad I’ve found something to combat that whilst also keeping me moisturiser!
The scent is subtle, which I appreciate. It’s not overpowering, and it doesn’t clash with my perfume. It’s just a light, herbal fragrance that’s barely there, which is perfect for those of us who are sensitive to strong smells.
So, is this cream worth the hype? In my opinion, absolutely! It’s a great all-rounder that works well for most skin types. It’s hydrating, it absorbs quickly, it has a lovely texture, and it’s not too pricey (for a high end moisturiser).
If you’re looking for a reliable moisturiser that will keep your skin happy and healthy, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
