BIODERMA Sébium H2O (purifying cleansing micelle solution) Review

BIODERMA Sébium H2O (purifying cleansing micelle solution) is a daily purifying cleanser and make-up removing water that uses the power of micelles to cleanse impurities, dirt, and oil from skin, as we well as to remove make-up.

bioderma sebum

One of the main reasons I purchased this was because It also stated that it purifies skin and helps reduce sebum.

Sebum is an oily secretion of the sebaceous glands. Too much of it can cause skin problems such as acne.

So naturally when I saw the word Sebium, I knew I had to give it a go.

The most noticeable thing about it is that it’s blue. This is of course due to the copper sulphate; historically used as a healing agent that calms and soothes the skin, copper repairs and promotes skin health. The perfect ingredient for those of us with acne prone skin.

The water comes in a plastic bottle which is easy to dispense the solution on to a cotton pad and wipe across your face.

Is it any good?

In short, I LOVE this product. It is great at removing dirt and grime, especially around the nose, chin and forehead areas where there is more oil (for me) but also more chances of breaking out.

The most noticeable thing for me is that it leaves my skin feeling really smooth. The texture on my skin seems to get completely smoothed out.

Although my face isn’t greasy afterwards it is slightly tacky. Nothing that’s annoying or feels gross. In fact I didn’t even notice it until I was really thinking about it for this review. This feeling does die down though.

Quite a few websites do state that you don’t need to rinse your face after using this product, I definitely prefer to deep clean my face so I go in with a face wash afterwards however if you’re on the road or travelling, I imagine this would be a very handy product to have with you.

Price-wise I think it’s definitely not the cheapest micellar water out there but it is worth every penny. There are no unnecessary ingredients (aside from maybe the fragrance) and Look Fantastic nearly always have an offer on, so you can often pick up a 500ml bottle for about £12.

Do I recommend BIODERMA Sébium H2O? If you’re prone to acne then this is going to change your life!
