5 Best Rooftop spots in London to chill and watch a sunset

I don’t know about you but I am so ready for summer. Warmer weather means the pop ups and terraces have begun to open up and I’ve got the low down on some of London’s best rooftop bars, terraces and pop-up venues that are opening up.

Roof East – Stratford

Roof East

Starting off strong, I’m leading with one of my firm favourites – Roof East. Dubbed as the best adult playground London has to offer, I am overjoyed at it’s return post covid. Sluggers, Birdies Crazy Golf, archery game Arrows and disco lawn bowls Glitter Bowls will also all reopen, as well as a firm favourite the Rooftop Film Club. You’ll be pleased to know that the rooftop bar’s food trucks will also reopen (more on that soon) as well as its five bars so you can have a sundowner while overlooking Olympic Park and London beyond.

Dates: Reopens April, 20
Opening Hours: Thurs – Fri 5pm -11pm; Sat-Sun 12pm -11pm (April trading hours)
Address: 7 & 8 Stratford Multi Storey Car Park, Great Eastern Road, Stratford E15 1XE

The Bussey Building – Peckham

The huge roof terrace of the Bussey Building in Peckham, has one of the best views in South London. The pretty floral pergolas are the perfect setting for all the different activities that are set here including, the Rooftop Film Club, yoga classes and lots of parties! The perfect place to grab a pizza, some cocktails and relax whilst you watch the sun go down with the panoramic views. Both covered and uncovered areas are available to book, kids are welcome up until 5pm, and dogs on leads can join in the fun too.

Eleven floors up and with views across King’s Cross, the Standard London’s rooftop bar perfect for a post work chill. Look out for the return of Sunday High which brings DJs, collective and performers with it.

Frank’s Cafe – Peckham

Housed in a multi-storey car park, Frank’s Café serves up cocktails, brunch, lunch and dinner and killer views across Peckham and London. You’ll no doubt have seen the pink stairwells that lead up to Bold tendencies and this year should be even better than the last. I mean, just look at that sunset!
