Transitional Dressing With Boohoo

Today I’m collaborating with Boohoo to take on transitional dressing or to put it more simply, wtf do I wear when the weather can’t make its mind up.

Living in the UK is tough. If you’re a commuter like me, you can go from being on a sweltering train to freezing my butt off by just walking to the station. All in the space of half an hour!

The one thing that everyone goes straight to is layering when they talk about transitional weather. Let me just stop all of the fashionistas who encourage this and just say – no. It’s not always the practical solution! If I’m rushing around across London, I don’t want to be dressing and undressing all over the place. For me the answer is to just dress smarter.

So when Boohoo asked me to Dress It Up with my perfect transitional dress, I knew exactly what I was looking for in their dresses section and went straight for a sweat dress. My busy work schedule means I’m always on the go so I need something casual and comfy that will get me through the unpredictability of the weather.

The dress I picked out the Stripe Tape Sweat Dress.

It comes in 3 different colours but the pink is my fave (Surprise surprise!). I love that the dress is made out of cotton and mama always said the best thing to wear in the heat is cotton. She grew up in India so she would definitely know!
Despite it being a “sweat dress” It’s not thick at all and yet it’s warm enough for those chilly/crisp days.

The contrasting white elasticated ribbed cuff and neck and the stripe which runs just 3/4 of the way down the sleeve give it that “athleisure look” that was huge all of last season. It’s the perfect way to channel ‘sporty’ without reaching for joggers or an oversized hoody.

The Stripe Tape sweat dress is definitely going to become a firm favourite with me because it is SO easy to style. I hate showing my legs so it’s easy to pull on some tights or leggings and some casual footwear to finish it off. I went for my Dune Slip on trainers from last year and pulled out my oversized longline denim jacket for when it gets cooler in the evening. Plus it just looks a tiny bit cooler with it on.

The dress is only £18 and will see you all the way through to winter. Most definitely worth it! Shop the dress and other items (or similar) below.
