Teint resist is a foundation that I find myself constantly coming back to.
Teint Resist is an oil-free, transfer resistant liquid foundation that boasts SPF 10 to protect your skin from the harsh sun rays. It also claims up to 14 hours of wear.
It is packaged in a (heavy) glass bottle with a pump, very simple and elegant. I have however issues with heavy bottles of foundation because I like to carry my entire make up bag with me and my poor shoulders start to feel the weight by the end of the day. I also have an issue with pump bottles, particularly this one! On the rare occasion when it’s having an off day, the pump has a life of it’s own and will squirt all over the place. My unforgiving very pale carpet and long wear foundation are not the best of combinations!
Where some foundations can smell pretty much like paint *cough MAC *cough*, YSL has a lovely feminine fruity scent. When applying the product, the foundation literally sells itself. It’s amazingly light and it feels like you have nothing on. It definitely applies easily and blends well, however it it is a light-medium coverage, so if you’re looking to cover any kind of redness, breakouts or scarring, it’s the wrong product for you. It does however have a great matte finish, and if you do have great skin, you will look flawless. YSL promises 14 hours of wear, however when I used the foundation during my 8 hours shifts, I would need to blot/touch up after about 6. I suppose it really depends on your skin too, but for me the foundation didn’t have the greatest staying power. So is it transfer resistant? to an extent yes, much more than other brands I’ve used, however it is something you apply to your skin so we can’t expect miracles.
My only real gripe with this foundation is the lack of colour selection. Being of South Asian descent, it’s often difficult to find the right colour and with such a small selection it doesn’t make my life any easier! I am a Mac studio fix NC25-NC30 with warm undertones. The lovely lady at the YSL counter recommended #7 pink beige for me. I have to say the colour does apply slightly ashy and since I have warm undertones, it can sometimes be too pink. If I were to purchase it again in the near future, I may opt for #5 Peach.
Overall, I think it’s a fantastic foundation, especially if you have great skin. I’ve not come across any that are like it.
