I’ve been eyeing the Pat McGrath PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil for what feels like forever. The promise of an 8-hour wear time and intense color payoff is super enticing. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s find out!

First Impressions:
The pencil glides on smoothly and delivers a vibrant color. The texture is creamy, making it easy to apply and blend. The colour is a true black which I’m a big fan of and when trying out in Selfridges, the lovely sales assistant said that it sets quite quickly, so you’ll need to work fast if you want to smudge it out.
I like to wear eyeliners in my waterline. Tightlining (using kohl) has been my thing from as far back as I remember so I know a thing or two about the perfect eyeliner. I also wear contacts so my eyes are super water-y and can be sensitive.
The Wear Test:
I put the PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil to the test by wearing it for a full 8 hours. Here’s what I found:

Overall Thoughts:
While the Pat McGrath PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil is a beautiful product with a creamy texture and intense color, it definitely doesn’t last 8 hours. For the price, I was really disappointed that it started to smudge and transfer so quickly. If you’re looking for a long-wearing eyeliner, I’d recommend trying something else. Sorry Pat, this ones a no from me.
