Ok so now that the Natural History museum’s ice rink is no more (sad times I know) we’ve got potentially an even better contender for London’s best ice rink – Glide at Battersea Power Station.

Wedged between the Battersea Power Station and the Thames and under the shadow of a 30 foot Christmas tree, Glide is set to be a quintessential London festive treat.
It’s actually created by the team behind the Natural History Museum Ice Rink and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, so expect it to be epic. Glide at Battersea Power station officially opens on Friday, November 11th and is three interconnected rinks surrounding the Christmas tree centrepiece.
Vintage-style fairground rides, live entertainment and photobooths keep the entertainment going rink-side, and there’s plenty more things to do, see and eat at the Grade II listed Power Station.
For little one and those like me, who can’t skate, Glide has penguin skate aids and offers skating lessons for beginners as well.
Glide tickets start from £12 for adults, with group, family and concession tickets available. Skating sessions run for 50 minutes.
