Electric Shuffle has expanded! This time they’ve opened up under the arches in London Bridge and good god, it’s beautiful. I was lucky enough to be invited to the opening and also got the chance to have a go at Electric Shuffle too.

So what is it?
Electric Shuffleboard isn’t just any game of shuffleboard, this stuff is hi-tech and highly entertaining. It uses unparalleled vision technology to guide teams of up to 16 through a series of games that are just difficult enough to be challenging but also a real laugh. I went with two of my closest friends and we teamed up with some of the creators of the game and it was the most fun I’ve had in ages.
Once you walk in, the lovely staff members check you in to a table. You decide which team you want to join, take a selfie and even a group photo. It’s all so futuristic – I loved it! Once you’re all set up you’re good to go!
These are some of the games I had a go at:
Territory – this is a game wholly of their own invention. In it, the computer separates the lane into hundreds of virtual hexagons. Each hexagon is coloured the same as the puck that’s currently closest to it. So the idea is to capture ‘territory’ by landing pucks in the most empty space (or by huddling up to enemy pucks to steal theirs). Whichever team gets the most territory wins. It’s instant fun.
Amplifier – this is their take on traditional shuffleboard, where the aim is to simply land in the various scoring zones marked out on the lane.
Eclipse – this one’s a take on boules, in which you’ve got to land your puck as close to the board’s central black spot as possible, strategically knocking others’ off the mark.

Of course, there are drinks too (craft beers, frozen cocktails, sharing drinks, all the usual), plus food (there’s a pizza oven if you’re into it, or just a few classics like your standard lobster mac & cheese). And they’re doing brunch that promises a bottle of prosecco per person. There are stools to sit on too so you don’t have to stand for the whole 90 mins! I had a taste of the pizza and whole-heartedly recommend.
I got the hang of it pretty quickly and of course, led my team to victory!
For the best experience, it’s recommended that you book a 90-minute slot for a game which is just £10 per person. Alternatively the award-winning bar is perfectly primed for a spontaneous drink too, if you’re in the area.
Not sure you want to play a game? If you’re just after the vibe and atmosphere then the brunch menu is also something not to be missed. Who can say no to bottomless pizza and a bottle of prosecco each? The Electric Shuffle brunch runs Thursday to Sunday (12:00-2:00 and 2:30-4:30).
NOTE: Electric Shuffle is open daily. Tables cost £20 per hour off-peak and £40 peak (weekdays after 4pm, and Saturdays). You can make a booking for Electric Shuffle here.
