Top 3 Lipsticks June 2018

Remember when project pan was a thing? I’m trying really very hard to do something along those lines because the thought of being wasteful with makeup that I’ve bought makes me feel all kinds of ill. Plus Makeup has a use-by-date and I don’t want to hoards loads and loads of Makeup only for it to go off.

I rarely wear lipstick on a normal day. I can rock a cat eye all day every day but for some reason I reserve lipstick for days when I dress up a bit. Not any more though! For the whole of June, I’ve been wearing more lipstick than I’ve ever done and incorporating it into my every day makeup.

For today’s post I’m featuring the top 3 lipsticks that I’ve been reaching for the most this month.

First up we have an oldie but a goodie:

MAC FAUX – this shade is so pretty that it upsets me that I completely forgot about it! It’s a beautiful muted mauve-pink that suits all skin tones. I sometimes think it changes colour depending on lighting but that just adds to the magic. Satin finish means that it’s really creamy and makes my lips look…healthy. Is that a thing? I feel like it should be.
Since it’s a standard lipstick it’s lasting power isn’t amazing but the pigmentation makes up for it!

Price: £17.50

INGLOT HD LIP TINT MATTE in shade 17 – I say it so often but I really believe that Inglot is a brand that is completely slept on. I was first introduced to them by a friend who is a bit of a makeup buff and I fell in love. Every single product is worth purchasing and when they released their HD lip tint matte I had to get my hands on some.
17 is a peachy nude that actually works well with Asian skin. I LOVE how comfortable the formula is to wear and the longevity is amazing too. If that hasn’t convinced you, FYI it also smells like sweets.

Price: £16.00

HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE in shade TROPHY WIFE – last but not least I found Trophy Wife floating around at the bottom of a handbag and it’s the one I’ve been using for when I’ve been going out. The shade is a stunning cool toned berry. The formula is amazing and I love the cocoa butter-y smell of Huda’s Liquid Matte’s. They do last quite a bit but aren’t touch/food/kiss proof which can be a pain.

Price: £18.00

If I’m honest, I’m surprised that they’re all priced very similarly. I would have expected MAC lipsticks to be around £15 considering they’re bog standard lipsticks. To be fair I remember when they used to be just £13! I just don’t think they’re worth the £17.50 price tag now. As I’ve grown older my love for MAC lipsticks has come to an abrupt end so I’m going to be using up my collection and saying goodbye to 90% of the shades I own.

Out of all three I definitely plan on repurchasing Inglot and looking into buying more shades. Heck, I’ll probably continue to repurchase and buy more shades of Huda’s liquid matte’s too!

This last pic wasn’t actually planned but after a few swipes of micellar water I surprised myself at just how good Inglot is at staying on. Definitely worth a purchase!
