Refy Lip Sculpt Swatch Rosewood

I recently went to an influencer event and all of the girlies were talking about the Refy lip sculpt. It was dubbed by the gaggle of Gen Z’s as their “holy grail” product, so naturally I had to check it out.

I took myself to Selfridges to swatch my favourite colours and naturally, all the testers barely had anything left in them. What you can see below is what I managed to scrape out of 4 of the 7 shades. Six shades are nudes, most are pink-toned, with a couple of true nudes and one deep brown shade – so I guess there’s something for every skin tone. They have also added a red into the mix which I am also here for. Rosewood was my favourite shade and the sales assistant said it was their best selling shade so of course, I bought it.

The Refy Lip Sculpt is a dual ended product. One side is a lip liner which twists up whist the other is a setting product, a clear gel-like formula with a small, flat paddle brush for application.

The lipliner has a creamy, matte consistency that just glides on. I like to blend it out on to my lips and it is perfect for doing that too. The plastic paddle brush just doesn’t work for me. It’s difficult to pick up the right amount of product and to apply it. I end up having to use my finger to smear it across, which isn’t always ideal. That being said I do like the consistency of the setting gel. It’s not shiny or tacky like a gloss. It takes a few minutes to dry down and once it’s done it leaves my lips feeling really comfortable.
You do have to be careful that the gel is properly put on because if it’s not spread on to your lips it will dry down and leave a white line/mark.

The results

Rosewood is a gorgeous medium, warm nude – think MAC Velvet Teddy. It truly is a stunning shade.

The lip liner lives up to its longevity claims, as it truly stays put *most* of the day. On a busy 12 hour day, of working, eating and drinking I only had to top up the lip liner once. Truthfully, I’ve never used a lip liner that has such holding power, and even when it does fade slightly, it wears beautifully, still keeping that contoured lip and colour pay-off.

Considering it’s priced at £14, I initially thought wow that’s quite reasonable but thinking about it now, it’s literally a lipliner, so it does feel like it’s on the pricier end BUT I have to say it’s worth it.
