Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 is the generation of NIOD’s multi-award-winning Copper Amino Isolate Serum. It has been raved about by many cosmetologists as being the answer to affordable skincare for raging skin that actually works.
I never did try the first generation of the product so I can’t comment on the difference however Niod have explained on their website that the big difference “the Activator contains 2% pure GHK (Tripeptide-1) and the Serum bottle, before mixing, contains Copper Gluconate (copper salt of D-gluconic acid). Once mixed, 1% GHK is left in free form, while 1% binds to the Copper Gluconate to form 1% Copper Tripeptide-1 (known as GHK-Cu or Copper Peptides).
I’m going to be honest, I don’t actually know what any of that means but after some research I’ve found that this second generation product contains an additional ingredient of “2% of pure GHK peptide”.
Still confused? Well to put it really simply, this update means that Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 now works even better to improve skin health in general as opposed to tackling just wrinkles. This done through increased accelerated healing and inflammation reduction as well as amplified collagen synthesis and fibroblast production (connective tissue cells that maintain structural integrity and is important in wound healing). I know that if you suffer from spots or acne, you’re going to be jumping with joy at this description.
Now that the science-y bit is out the way let’s look at the actual product.
After you’ve purchased it, you get to play chemist and mix together your final product. In the box, there are two bottles one is a clear liquid (the activator) in a dropper bottle and the second is a blue powder which is pure Copper Tripeptide-1. You then shake the mixture for 30 seconds and it’s ready to use twice a day.
Actually, here’s some more science stuff to explain just why this product is AMAZING for your skin.
Copper Tripeptide GHK-Cu is a peptide found in nature and originally isolated from human plasma. The concentration of this peptide in human plasma continues to drop with aging past late teenage years and this drop exceeds 60% by age 60. The peptide is responsible for activation of a wide range of skin health functions, including wound healing, immune function, collagen synthesis, blood vessel development, fibroblast production and anti-inflammatory responses.
Many topical anti-aging products contain variations of copper peptides in extremely small amounts. Generally, these variation peptides are found in parts per million in active technologies that topical products claim to include at high percentages but the final concentration of the variation peptides in topical products is generally less than 0.01% and these peptides would then have to be converted to even smaller amounts of pure copper peptides within the skin.
This product contains 1.0% pure Copper Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu) in powder form to be mixed with a specialized activator before first use. This extraordinary concentration allows activation of a wide array of skin health functions that help to prevent and reverse largely all aspects of visible skin aging, including textural damage, uneven pigmentation, loss of elasticity, lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores and general lack of a healthy radiance present in younger skin. In short, the skin will act and look younger starting within 5 days with continued improvements over time.
Copper/Proline/Lysine Peptide Stabilization Complex – Superb award-winning technology to stabilise and enhance the activation of copper peptides provides an ideal base foundation for the maintenance and delivery of the high concentration of copper peptides.
Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer (Directly combined with a Very-Low-Molecular-Weight Hyaluronic Delivery Complex) – A unique cross-linked non-animal form of hyaluronic acid that delivers water and water-soluble actives over time into the skin through its nonequilibrium gel structure, helping to maintain high skin water content for longer periods. Complex delivery of water-bound content through this system allows for smaller technologies to penetrate the skin.
Ok now back to the product:
The consistency is very very watery. It’s fantastic for absorbing straight into the skin and it doesn’t leave a residue. It’s something I’ve incorporated so easily into my routine so easily because it doesn’t take a lot of faffing around nor do I have to wait for it to dry or sink in.
I do want to add a side note that because it’s so watery, I would suggest being really really careful with it. I’ve knocked the bottle accidentally and spilled an insane amount. Worst feeling ever because of how much I paid for it. On the bright side, I didn’t spill any on my light coloured carpet because I really don’t want to find out how hard it is to remove blue stains from beige carpet!
There is no added fragrance but it has a slightly acidic smell to it when you first put it on, kinda like watered down vinegar. It’s not over powering though and it disappears almost instantly.
One of the reasons I’m raving about Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 is fast results that you an actually see. Now I’m obviously not talking within the first use but after just over a month of using it, the redness around my nose and parts of my cheeks has reduced a significant amount. I’m talking about months and months of acne scarring/pigmentation correcting itself. Now that the redness has been lifted I’m seeing my skin tone looking better and I can only hope it continues to even out completely.
I’m very very reluctantly adding a picture of myself without a scrap of makeup on to show you how my very red and scarred skin is looking so far. This is just after a few weeks of use.
I mean I knew that CAIS 2:1 is packed full of advanced peptides making it even more of a pro-health, pro-healing and pro-collagen skincare essential; I just didn’t think it would work this well for me. If you’re someone who might not necessarily suffer from acne or spots but want to address uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, texture, elasticity and other signs of aging, then this is definitely worth purchasing.
I’ve been avoiding using the product near my under eyes but I’m kind of keen to see if it will have any effect on my dark circles. I will most probably start doing this asap and will report back on the results.
I’m a big believer on not skimping when it comes to skincare so I am fine with paying a good amount of money if something is actually going to work. Niod’s Copper Amino Isolate Serum 2:1 retails are £38 for 15ml or £60 for 30ml. Is it worth the price tag? Absolutely. There’s no doubt about it, the product has very clearly and lovingly been designed by Brandon and the cost of quality products is never going to be cheap.
