I’ve worn makeup for about a decade now. As shallow (and old!) as I might sound, it’s such a huge part of my life and without my eyeliner I don’t even feel like my usual self. For me though, my love for makeup isn’t something that I hide. It makes me happy and I feel like with these tools I can be the best version of myself every day. Since I love it so much I’ve decided to answer the 7 deadly sins of makeup tag questions.
Greed – What is your most expensive/inexpensive make-up item?
The most expensive item I own is probably Chantecaille Biodynamic Lifting Neck Cream which is £150.I’ll be completely honest though, it was gifted to me by the lovely guys at Farfetch when I attended their event last year. The most expensive thing that I’ve bought for myself…hmm this is really tough. I love makeup but I’ve only just realised that I’m not one to splurge on it, I tend to wait for birthdays and ask someone else gets it for me ha.
The most expensive thing I’d like to own is Tom Ford’s foundation. £64 on something I wash off after a few hours breaks my heart a little bit though. Maybe when I’m a millionaire I’ll splash out and treat myself.
Wrath – What product do you have a love/hate relationship with? In general concealer makes me mad. It doesn’t always cover as well as I want it to, then I gotta stress about the creases and whether I need to conceal. It’s just such a headache. The actual product that I have a love/hate relationship with has to be MAC Prolongwear concealer. I love this concealer so much because it does not budge and it doesn’t crease either HOWEVER after a while it smells like…damp. It’s really unpleasant and initially I thought it was just a faulty batch that I had bought but nope, they all stink after a while lol.
Gluttony – What brand takes up the most of your make-up collection? On first glance I have to say MAC. mostly because I have about 30 of their lipsticks but I’ve sort of outgrown the brand now and for me there are better quality products that I prefer to invest my money in. I can see very quickly that Huda beauty and Kat Von D liquid lipsticks are taking over though.
Sloth – Which product do you neglect due to laziness? Mascara – I really really should wear it because I have poker straight lashes and really big eyes so it helps even out my features a little bit however I just can’t be bothered. It’s time consuming and I really really hate taking it off at the end of the day so now I’ve just opted not to wear it unless I’m actually going out.
Pride – Which product gives you the most self confidence? False lashes! As I said earlier, my eyelashes are sort of non existent because they’re so straight and so when I’ve got falsies on I feel like a different person! Now that I’ve discovered LVL (not sure if that counts as a product) that really really helps. In fact this has reminded me to get myself booked in for another treatment.
Lust – What item is at the top of your beauty wishlist? I really really really want the ABH lip palette. It looks SO good and the possibilities are endless. I’ve been watching insta videos non stop for a few weeks now for inspiration so that when I do finally get my hands on one I’ll be able to create some killer looks.
Envy – Which makeup look looks great on other people but not on you? Cut creases. They look so beautiful when it’s done well but again because I have really big eyes, I just think it makes them even more prominent and a little bit weird. I even have a pinterest board dedicated to cut creases!
And that’s me done. It was actually a lot harder than I thought! I’d love to know what your answers would be so now I tag you. Leave me a comment with your link to your post below or if you don’t blog leave your answers in the comment box.
