This week I visited London’s latest instagrammable cafe – The Terrace by L’Opera. I *think* it’s a revamp of L’opera of Brompton. Regardless, the interior of this restaurant is beautiful. Lots of greenery and velvet seating, ornate mirrors and even some giraffe’s hiding amongst the leaves.

It was busy but they kept the seats of 4 at the front free for some reason. We hadn’t booked so took a chance on getting a free table. The lady who seemed like the manager said she didn’t have a table for us but she would have a look. After what seemed like an age she came back and said have a look at the table and to let her know. The table was one that would fit 6 people and she said we could sit at one end provided that she could seat another 2 people at the other end. It wasn’t an issue for us so we sat down.
Having had a quick browse of the menu, it looks suspiciously similar to the EL&N menu. From the extensive list of spanish latte’s, right down to the chapatti’s with Za’taar. My friend and I both went for the English muffin and I included some spinach in mine. They also had no pistachio paste so I couldn’t order the spanish latte I wanted so I settled for an iced charcoal latte instead.

The food came in good time but I have to say the service really wasn’t great. The waiters seemed all over the place and the manager just seemed super uninterested in being there.
The food was nice but my muffin was stale. I checked in with a few others on Instagram who have visited recently and they all said the same thing! Disappointing because as always with these “instagrammable cafe’s” it was overpriced. My drink cost as much as my food and it was a small glass and I had to ask for it twice before it actually came out. I have to say the latte tasted nice but I’m not sure I’d get it again.
The place is really well decorated but there aren’t really photo taking opportunities which also surprised me. The toilets and the walk down to the loos is either still getting a makeover or they just ran out of funds because that looked a mess too.
Overall it’s a cute place to go with your girls but I personally don’t think it’s worth the trek for the food.
