If I Had More Time I Would…

Way back in December, I remember sitting down with my notebook and pen and thinking up some goals that I had for 2020. Then, when January ended I took a look at this list and I thought to myself ‘if only I had more time, there’s so much more I would do’. Fast forward a few months later and I’m sat here thinking WTF do I do with all this time!!

I’ve now decided to make a new list of all the things that I said I always wanted to do if I had more time.

Calligraphy

Calligraphy is just so pretty to look at and I’m honestly envious of everyone that is able to do it so beautifully. It is an art form that takes a lot of practise and that usually means time that I don’t have. Luckily though I don’t have an excuse anymore! I was gifted a calligraphy set when I visited the Anya Hindmarch Postbox Maze exhibition so I’m all equipped. Now to just sit down and practise!

Learn to sew

I’m trying my absolute best to see the positives in this crap situation that we’re in right now so I thought I would go back and re do that list of things that I have always wanted to do if I had the time. Learn to sew – It’s an important life skill and the idea that I would be able to whip up a new outfit from scratch has always excited me. The only problem is that I may have broken a sewing machine needle at school and now I’m slightly terrified of going near one.

More creative makeup looks

I’m loving creating different looks using makeup. I find it really therapeutic and judging by the engagement and appreciation from brands, other people do too! I do find however that it is pretty difficult finding inspiration so I’ve made a list of prompts to help me out. I’m not going to keep rigid with it but it’s nice to have something to refer to. Hope you guys can join in too!

Yoga

I cannot use the fact that I have no time to go and workout anymore. Especially since EVERYONE is working out from their homes. I have a yoga mat and light weights so no more excuses for me.

Spring Cleaning

I’m a self confessed hoarder. I prefer the term maximalist actually. I am however holding on to wayyy too many things and I’ve got to clear it all out. I’m finding it to be quite overwhelming to set aside a whole day(s) to clean so instead I’m setting aside half an hour a day to tackle one tiny corner or space.

Update: It’s Day 13 of self isolation for me and I’m really proud to say that I’ve done really well in making an attempt to do all of these things! The biggest thing I’ve learnt is that I need to have a routine, so I’ve kept sewing an activity for the weekends. This way it gives me something to look forward to too.

How is self isolation going for you guys?
