I have a friend who always says accessories make an outfit. I never used to share this sentiment as a teen but as I’ve grown older I have to agree. I’ve grown to love little details, especially if they’re a little bit different from the norm. Be it quirky jewellery or a statement belt, I live for them all.
Luckily SS19 is the season of accessorising – you heard it here first!
You know how I always complain about not having enough space in my small cross body bags? Well the fashion world has heard our prayers once more because the catwalks for SS19 pretty much all featured the double bag trend.
I tried it out and I actually really like it! I wasn’t sure how mixing high street and high end would look either but it’s a thumbs up from me.
Here are my favourite cross body bags that are in stores at the moment, all of which are under 30!
If you follow any kind of fashionista on Instagram, you will have no doubt come across the hair pin trend. This all powerful (but very small) accessory can completely change an entire look and I can’t get enough! Last month I started curating a Pinterest board (see below) with ideas for some hair styles with grips and pins and I’m obsessed with them all! Can’t wait to start experimenting.
I knew I had to start stocking up with hair pins as soon as I could so I made a trip to my favourite store for on-trend accessories – Accessorize (obvz). I’ve started my collection with a simple set and a dressier kind.
The first set is plain grip/bobby pins but in a range of metallic colours. Since I have dark hair, they’ll stand out really well. Plus at just £3, I would be crazy to have put them back down. You can purchase the same ones here.
The second set is a mixture of diamonds and pearls. They’re SO pretty and are such an easy way to dress up a casual outfit. I love wearing these with jeans and plain jumper. So chic.
Aside from coats and outerwear, my other love is sunglasses. I keep a pair in every bag and I’m ashamed to count how many I have. Spare me the judgement please.
The most annoying thing is when it’s bright and sunny outside and you want to take your small cross body bag out but your sunglasses just don’t fit. Those days are tough because I know if I take my glasses out, there’s a huge chance I’ll be losing them.
I’m so happy to declare that SS19’s new sunglasses chain trend means that I won’t need to worry about this anymore! My glasses can stay around my neck all day without me worrying about losing them.
Nasty Gal currently have a number of different designs but I decided to buy the classic gold chain design. I’ve given it a test drive and I love it so much. There’s no doubt I’ll be buying a few more and I’ve rounded up my favourites below.
The very last trend (but by no means the least!) that I am going to be wearing is party dresses as casual wear. All over sequin dresses were spotted on the so many catwalks, including Ashish, House of Holland, David Koma and Roberta Einer. All I have to say is I am here for it! I cannot wait to style some super sparkly dresses with very casual trainers.
I’ve picked out some of my favourite sequinned pieces below:
Will you be wearing any of these trends for the upcoming season?
