Hey babes, I’m backkkk! In the run up to Eid, I wanted to talk to you guys about a brand I’ve recently discovered and have been finding myself recommending to absolutely everyone! – Diya Online.
Diya very kindly asked to send me a surprise dress as part of their Eid with Diya campaign. I had no idea what would be sent to me but having had a quick browse on their website I loved pretty much everything they were selling so I agreed. If you know me, you’ll know I’m super fussy and that liking the majority of any brands collection is a real rarity for me.
You might have seen my “unboxing” on Insta stories last Saturday when it arrived and I was SO happy with what they sent.
The dress I received is one I would class as part of their contemporary collection. It’s not your typical suit in any way including the tailoring and the print. You cannot go wrong with florals in the Summer, especially when the colours are so unlike anything you’ve seen elsewhere.
The suit comes with churidar trousers and a scarf/dupatta, both in a dark grey colour that matches the dress perfectly. I personally rarely wear dupatta’s and try to ditch them where I can and so of course I’ve done so with this dress. The dress looks incredibly classy and something I would expect to find on the high street in Zara! (remember this dress?)
In terms of sizing, I am a 10 – 12. Naturally I asked for a medium and hoped to god that it wouldn’t be a tight fit. All hail the bias cut because I can confirm that it is SO flattering for all body shapes, especially if you’re pear shaped like me. The sizing is true to size.
There’s also a zip on the side to help get in and out if it’s required.
As if I wasn’t in love with the dress already, the little details really finish it off for me. I love the pearl buttons that go down the front of the dress and the beautiful bell sleeves. The bell sleeves are elasticated where they draw in which makes for really comfortable wear. Something else which shouldn’t go unnoticed is that they’ve added a small, very subtle piece of material on the neckline for those who prefer their clothing more on the modest side. It’s actually so subtle that it’s barely noticeable.
This particular suit is made from chiffon which means it falls really nicely too. The suit is fully lined bar the sleeves and the tailoring is surprisingly good! Now the reason why I’m saying ‘surprisingly’ is because of the price. I mean, guys this 3 piece suit is just £32.99. This blows my mind. Diya where have you been all my life??
The one thing I’ve been praying for is affordable desi clothes that aren’t typical or terribly made. Let’s just say I am more than happy to say my prayers have been answered!
I will 100% be using Diya Online to shop for upcoming weddings and functions and can’t wait to put my own personal styling to some of their pieces. Thinking of doing a post on my favourite picks from the website too, so look out for that one.
