I love love love cleansing brushes. I always stress about whether my hands are doing a good enough job, especially as i’m a full coverage foundation lover. It makes me feel better that I have that extra helping hand when it comes to cleaning out my pores. I used a manual brush for a long time before swtching to a silicone one this year. Although they both clean my face very very well, I was looking for something a little bit extra.
I recently received the Magnitone Vibra-Sonic™ Facial Cleansing Brush in the brand new shimmer collection that is out for Christmas 2017. Since I’m kind of drowning in rose gold stuff I decided to opt for the Serenity Blue colour and I’m so glad I did because it’s SO pretty. This set gets even better because not only does it come with an Active Clean brush head, it even comes with an additional stimulator brush head.
I opened up the box straight away and honestly it seemed pretty straight forward to get set up.
To charge the device brush, all you have to do is place the magnetic clink charger onto the bottom of the front of the handle. Connect one end of the USB cable into the base of the charger and the other end into a USB power source (an iphone charger or laptop works fine!). The light on the front panel will begin to flash while charging and will stop flashing once the brush is fully charged.
Having had terrible acne in the past and being blessed with extremely sensitive skin, I thought it would still be a good idea to read the instruction manual first. As I suspected, the cleansing brush is very straight forward to use.
Some of you might still be sceptical and thinking, but do you really need a brush to clean your face?’
Well, to put it simply, the answer is YES! Like I said, the Magnitude vibra-sonic cleansing brush is brilliant for giving you a deeper clean. How does it work exactly? In really simple terms, it starts by exfoliating the skin and removing any unwanted dead skin cells, by doing this it reveals the fresh skin cells underneath which of course makes your skin appear younger and brighter. Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want that?
If you want to get a little bit more technical, then the vibrations from the Magnitone Barefaced brush act as a magnet to pull dirt and impurities deep from within the pore out to the surface. This is ensuring a deeper cleanse which of course unclogs the pores but can also reduce the production of extra sebum, reduces skin cornification (the process that allows the formation of a dead cells layer to create a physical barrier for the skin) and also reduces the build up of blackheads.
As if that wasn’t enough, since all the dead skin has been taken off, it now means all your skincare products will work much much better. So you definitely get more from all the money you spend of lotions and potions.
After reading countless reviews I saw that some people breakout after the first few days of using a Magnitude but this is nothing to worry about. The deep-cleansing action is designed to purge oil, dirt, pollution and dry skin from the pores and sometimes your skin can take a few days to adjust to this new way of cleansing.
People usually tend to think that these facial brushes are abrasive and can be damaging to your skin – I have to admit I was definitely one of these people lol. I assumed the bristles would be really tough and poke right into my skin but it’s quite the contrary! It’s weirdly gentle to use and I would say it’s no more abrasive than using a muslin cloth.
One of the great things about Magnitone is that it works well with all of your favourite cleansers. I used my Dermalogica daily microfoliant and after just the first use my skin felt SO clean. There was literally no traces of makeup left behind on my face at all. I’ve been using the Magnitone every day because I can. It’s completely gentle and so easy to fit into my skin care routine. The brush heads can be easily cleaned with warm soapy water and when I feel like they’re not cleaning as well anymore it’s really simple to buy replacement brush heads.
The Limited Edition Magnitone Vibra-Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush gift set retails at £89.99. This might sound steep but honestly, for a gift set it’s definitely worth it. Besides, you can’t put a price on good skin! What’s even better is that if you keep an eye out there is even a discount of 44% in the leadup to Christmas.
