Bringing Back The BackPack

Or as we would call it in the UK, The Rucksack. For a good few years now I have been lusting over the Mulberry Cara Delevingne bag but let’s be real, I don’t think I could ever justify spending that much on a bag.
Weirdly enough, this season my style inspiration and muse is my 5 year old neice. I’ve somehow purchased pink glittery plimsolls, a pink fur coat and now to add to it, a rucksack. I didn’t ever think that in my twenty-somethings I’d be dressing this way. I always thought I’d be all smart and sophisticated but you know what. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

This winter my outerwear is both comfy and practical. Wait, now I sound like I’m 50…

Moving swiftly back to the beauty that is my brand new bag, I fell in love with it the moment I saw it hanging in Urban Outfitters. It’s sleek and flat design make it so easy to carry around, especially on the tube where personal space is precious. A huge bag means you’re going to get shoved about for definite!

The rucksack has a zip top rather than a flat which removes a lot of the bulk, plus it makes me feel a little bit safer. I always think with a flap top anyone can put their hand in your bag or your phone or purse might just accidentally fall out without you noticing.

The inside is a lot roomier than it looks from the outside and it’s able to just about fit an a4 pad into it if you’re wondering how big it is. I’m a huge hoarder and love to carry around everything but the kitchen sink in my bag so I was ecstatic when it all fitted in nicely. Inside there is one zip pocket and a mobile phone slot. Both straps are adjustable and the majority of the exterior is made of PU. There is a real suede panel that runs through the centre of the bag which really makes the bag look sleeker.

The bag is currently on sale from £46 down to £30 (bargain!) and it comes in both black and tan. Both colours look equally gorgeous and this is coming from someone who doesn’t wear brown, ever.
