Boat Riding in Hyde Park

Stuck for things to do on a sunny day in London? If you’re in Central London, why not spend a relaxing day out in Hyde Park.

Generally Hyde Park is pretty boring. In that, for such a huge park there is very little to do. Nonetheless, it’s still one of my favourite parks in London and what I like most about it is the boating on Serpentine lake.

The nearest station is Knightsbridge or Hyde Park Corner. Alternatively you could get off at Marble Arch but it is a bit of a trek to get to the lake from that station.

The prices for boating seem to change all year round it seems, and at the time this post was written, the price was £10 per person (adults) for half an hour. Pricey if you’re not really wanting to pay tourist prices, but it really is well worth the time.

You do have to pedal the boats to get anywhere so be prepared for a bit of legwork.

Hyde Park is one of the fewer green areas in London that are great to enjoy the summer in. I try and visit as often as I can. The boating just makes it that little bit more enjoyable!

On a side note, the lake also has swans!…(and other birds too)…And we all know my weird love/hate obsession with swans!

Love Always,
